That’s why, for all names we present you, we check the legal availability though databases of marks and companies. To complete this check, the availability of the corresponding URLS is verified.
Every potential brand is evaluated towards its correspondence with your criteria marketings, of its linguistic value and our analysis of legal data made.
Approximately 2 weeks after the initial briefing, we present you a selection of about fifty names checked as identical and similarity. These names come along with comments enlightening you on their asses and their possible weaknesses.

We can conduct focus group to help you to define the identity of your future product. These researches can occur upstream or downstream the creation of the name of your new brand.
• Upstream, we can organize one or several groups to test the universe associated with your first vision of your concept. These tests allow delimitation of the universes that are already strongly present and exploitable for the creation of your future image. Also, they uncover the concepts that you should avoid (products perceived as too weak, too young, too old, too elitist or not enough…). These groups are realized with your target audience.
Bonampak also realizes brainstorming within your company to outline the universe associated with your concept. This experiment outlines the images and therefore the lexical universes that are considered the most relevant by the majority of your team. If your project has for example to evoke performance and reliability, we’ll work together to find the words but also the colours, the forms, the objects, the stories and more generally the domains that are associated with these themes. If you are undecided on the choice of your new brand name, we can test for you the last candidates of the shortlist and find which name really fit with your project. We realize on 4 or 5 names, a set of individual interviews with around thirty customers. The names are first tested alone, outside their context to get spontaneous reactions. We then test their appropriateness to the product.
These test are not performed to let the customer decide which name is the best candidate, but rather to bring you a set of supplemental information to help you in your choice.
We realize this kind of test individually instead of by group to widen the number of possible spontaneous reactions to the propositions but also to verify that people are able to pronounce the different names.

After a couple of years as creative director in a brand-naming agency in Paris, Julie decided to move to San Francisco where she met the Zenmark team in 2009. From her passed experiences and from this new collaboration is born the idea of Bonampak.
Julie graduated with a Masters in Linguistics and Sociology from Sorbonne, with a focus in consumer consumption.
As the founder of Bonampak, Julie hopes to assist you with the success of your future projects.
Graphic Designer and Creative Director since 2006 for various agencies, Sophie and Julie met during an agency partnership. They both knew at the time that they would keep on working together and with Bonampak this idea has finally become true.
Sophie uses her knowledge of the naming process to assist you with defining your brand’s graphic goals.
Christelle graduated from with a Masters in Linguistics (Paris V) and a Professional Master in Semiology (Paris Sorbonne). Like her collegue, Julie, Christelle always had a love for words and context. Fascinated by linking both legal rigor and flight of creativity she has worked in brand-naming since 2006.
At Bonampak, Christelle looks for the words that will perfectly fit with your concept and emphasizes it in the most harmonious way possible.
Zenmark is an agency specializing in brand-naming that was created in 1999 by Greg Balla, a former engineer from the Silicon Valley, and Rob McDaniel, a Hollywood scriptwriter. Located in the heart of San Francisco, the agency has acquired a reputation in the pharmaceutical and high-tech industries.

Psychosociologist, has joined the Bonampak’s team and brings his highly-skilled background to each naming project. After a double diploma in Psychology and Qualitative Studies (EHESS/Paris and UBO) he worked for four years in the creative department at a brand-naming agency.
